DOG PROJECT

DOG PROJECT

Puerto Rico

In 2017 our island of Puerto Rico was hit by Hurricane Irma which lasted for more than 35 hours. And just a few days later - before the island could even start to rebuild - they were hit again by Hurricane Maria.

The devastation was immense and the affect it had on the animal population was catastrophic.

Together with the people of Puerto Rico, we have worked tirelessly to help these dogs, collaborating with officials and rescue groups. So far we have helped thousands of animals with rescue efforts, medical attention, food and supplies for our communities.

These many hundreds of animals have been spayed, neutered, and transported from PR to the mainland and into loving homes.

SPECIAL TEAM MEMBERS

We couldn't do what we do without support and we have two special team members who are dedicated to helping us save as many dogs in Puerto Rico as possible.

helpdogs

We are working to establish a facility for the housing, feeding and medical attention of the population of stray animals in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, and need your help to achieve our goal of raising $250,000!

To date, we've been funding this project through private funds and very generous donations from supporters who are as concerned about the welfare of these dogs as we are.

But there is still so much work to be done:

  • Improving human health by improving animal health
  • Helping domestic pets and providing them with care, food and medical attention
  • Community education on how to better care for their pets
  • Helping the stray animal population with a spay and neuter campaign
  • Saving stray dogs and relocating them to new loving families in the States

We have volunteers on the ground who ensure all of the donations we receive are used to help care for and feed these dogs - including the twice daily food run to various spots on the island.

A donation of just $50 feeds 15 hungry stray dogs for a week.

If you share our passion for dogs and animal welfare please consider donating or sharing this with your circle of friends.
